MOTORISTS SHOULD WATCH FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL ON OREGON 38 IN SCOTTSBURG

Motorists on Oregon 38 should expect brief delays through the Scottsburg Bridge work zone for the next two months.

Dan Latham of the Oregon Department of Transportation said starting this week, the highway is limited to a single lane across the Umpqua River. Latham said a temporary signal will provide traffic control. He said most delays will be less than five minutes.

Latham said the closure will allow prime contractor Hamilton Construction to begin work on the north roadway approach to the new bridge. Hamilton started on the $43 million project in early 2019 and plans to shift traffic onto the new bridge by late spring or early summer.
