A contractor for the Oregon Department of Transportation is preparing for the upcoming Conn-Ford Bridge replacement project about one mile west of Roseburg.
Dan Latham of ODOT said the two-year project will replace the bridge, built in 1964, which spans the South Umpqua River on Melrose Road. Latham said the project is a two-bridge bundle that also includes replacing a bridge in Oakland. This spring, contractors will build a detour bridge at the Melrose work zone.
Latham said through Friday, drivers should watch for intermittent lane and shoulder closures as the contractor installs construction signs along Melrose Road.
