On Wednesday, Congressman Peter DeFazio voted to deliver nearly $18 million in Community Funding Projects that he secured for Oregon’s Fourth Congressional District.

DeFazio said, “These investments will have a profoundly positive impact on our district. They provide funding for projects that bolster local infrastructure, health care, education, wildfire preparedness, community safety and environmental restoration”. DeFazio said he is proud to have secured the funding to make communities stronger, safe and healthier.

The projects receiving funding include:

*Nearly $7 million for repair of the Coos Bay North Jetty

*$3.5 million to construct a new wastewater treatment plant at the Port of Brookings Harbor

*$1.5 million for Lane County to establish a rural community health clinic in Cottage Grove

*$1 million to expand seating and other improvements to Eugene’s Civic Stadium

*$500,000 for aviation equipment for the Lane Aviation Academy at Lane Community College

Several other projects are receiving funding as well.

The funding comes as part of a House-passed package to help middle class families. It will be voted on later in the Senate before being sent to President Biden for his signature.
