In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:

The Umpqua Symphony Association kickstarts a year-round celebration of the Douglas County Youth Orchestra’s 25th anniversary with a unique fundraiser.

6 stringed instruments that served their lifespan are transformed into artist-rendered works of art by 6 of Oregon’s finest local artists. Instruments include 1 cello and 5 violins.

A premiere show will be held on Friday March 11th from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Student Gallery of the Umpqua Valley Arts Center on West Harvard Avenue in Roseburg. The instruments will remain on display through Friday March 25th.

These instruments will be available for sale throughout the year. Proceeds will benefit the orchestra. Learn by going to www.dcyomusic.org.
