2 HURT IN 2 VEHICLE WRECK IN GREEN

2 people were hurt in a 2-vehicle wreck in Green on Tuesday night.

An Oregon State Police report said just before 6:15 p.m. a westbound sedan was struck by another sedan that was attempting to enter the eastbound lanes of Highway 42 near Landers Avenue.

The operator of the 2nd vehicle allegedly made a left-hand turn off of Landers into the path of the first vehicle. Multiple witnesses said the first vehicle hit did not have its headlights on. The accident took place in an unlit section of the highway after sunset.

Both drivers were transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center. The driver of the first vehicle, was transported to Legacy Emmanuel Medical Center in Portland. He is listed in fair condition as last check, according to a hospital spokesperson. The second driver was treated and released. Both vehicles were towed away. The driver of the first vehicle was given a warning for operating a vehicle without the required lighting.
