A Roseburg woman was jailed for an alleged stolen vehicle incident on Saturday.

Information from Roseburg Police said at about 2:30 p.m. the owner reported her vehicle had been stolen from a parking lot on Northwest Veterans Way. A few minutes later it was spotted by a deputy near Washington and Spruce downtown, but it disappeared in traffic.

About 40 minutes later, an officer stopped the vehicle at Tipton Road and took the 25-year old driver into custody. The suspect said she knew the owner, but the owner did not know the suspect. An officer called the suspect’s probation officer who authorized a detainer.

The suspect was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and for a parole violation. She was detained without bail.
