Umpqua Community College has its Health Nursing and Science Center closed for Tuesday.

Last week the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office announced it was conducting a threat assessment regarding what were called “concerning statements” made by an individual involving UCC.

DCSO said it takes these types of investigations seriously and continues to work in partnership with the college to ensure the safety of the campus community. Last week’s statement said DCSO would have an enhanced law enforcement presence on the campus.

DCSO Lieutenant Brad O’Dell and UCC spokesperson Suzi Pritchard said they had no further information to release regarding the situation.
