WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect through 10:00 a.m. Tuesday for much of central Douglas County and surrounding areas above 1,500 feet.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches at the 1,500-foot level are forecast. 3 to 6 inches of snow is expected from elevations near 2,000 feet upward.

The Advisory area includes the towns of Azalea, Glendale, Tiller and portions of Highway 42 near Camas Valley, and Interstate 5 south of Canyonville.

Forecasters said travel could be difficult due to slick, snow covered roads. The hazardous conditions are likely to impact travel on Monday as well as the Tuesday morning commute.

A Winter Storm Warning is in place above 2,500 feet Additional snow accumulations of 8 to 14 inches are forecast. This includes the Steamboat and Toketee Falls areas.
