The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a threat assessment regarding concerning statements made by an individual involving Umpqua Community College.
A DCSO post said deputies are currently investigating the statements. The Sheriff’s Office said it takes these types of investigations seriously and continues to work in partnership with the college to ensure the safety of the campus community.
As such, UCC has made the decision to close the Health Nursing and Science Center for one day on Tuesday, February 22nd. The post said DCSO will have an enhanced law enforcement presence on the campus.
News Radio 1240 KQEN reached out to both DCSO and UCC. Lieutenant Brad O’Dell and spokesperson Suzi Pritchard had no further information to release regarding the situation
