Most Douglas County government offices will be closed on Monday in observance of President’s Day.
That includes the Douglas County Courthouse and Justice Building, Courthouse Annex in Reedsport, the museum, the landfill and transfer sites, fairgrounds and all external offices.
A release from the Board of Commissioners said there will be some exceptions:
*The Umpqua River Lighthouse will be open for normal business hours
*All county operated parks, campgrounds and boat ramps will be open and accessible
*911 communications and staff with the Sheriff’s Office will continue to provide law enforcement protection and emergency assistance.
*Douglas County Commissioners Tim Freeman, Chris Boice and Tom Kress, along with Public Health Officer Dr. Bob Dannenhoffer and the staff at Douglas Public Health Network will continue to work on the COVID-19 response regardless of the holiday
Washington’s birthday, now widely referred to as President’s Day, is a federal holiday celebrated on the third Monday of February.
