Altrusa International and the Umpqua Literacy Council will host Go Wild with Reading on Saturday February 19th at the Wildlife Safari.

The event is part of the Celebration of Literacy underway in Douglas County.

From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. all vehicles carrying children from Douglas County will be allowed free admission to the park’s drive through. Each car must either show the flyer for the event or the driver must show a Douglas County address on their driver license.

Before or after going through the drive through, those attending can stop in the park’s village at the dome to receive 4 free books per child and participate in the reading related booths. A book exchange will be there, where kids can bring a book to exchange for a new book. There will also be a strolling story time.

The event was previously called the Celebration of Literacy Reading Fair, but due to the pandemic, it was moved to an open-air environment.
