A man was injured in a vehicle versus tree accident on Tuesday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just before 8:30 a.m. a 40-year old was in the 300 block of South Elk Creek Road near Drain when he attempted to miss a flock of turkeys crossing the road, lost control and center punched the large tree.

The driver was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center for treatment. He is listed in fair condition, according to a hospital spokesperson.  His vehicle was towed from the scene.
