ROSEBURG MAN DIES IN MOTORCYCLE VERSUS VEHICLE ACCIDENT

A Roseburg man died in a motorcycle versus vehicle accident in Green on Friday.

A report from Oregon State Police said at approximately 5:25 p.m. a pickup operated by a 75-year old Roseburg man was southbound on Landers Avenue approaching the Highway 42 intersection. The pickup entered the highway in the path of a westbound motorcycle, operated by 54-year old Brian Porter, also of Roseburg.

The vehicles collided, causing Porter to be ejected from the motorcycle. Two eastbound cars struck the victim in the roadway.

Porter sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. He was wearing a helmet and all others involved were wearing safety belts.

OSP was assisted by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Winston Police Department, Douglas County Fire District No.2, the Winston-Dillard Fire Department and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
