LITTLE TO NO GROWTH ON ROUGH PATCH COMPLEX

September 22, 2021 9:40 a.m.

There was little to no growth on the Rough Patch Complex on Tuesday, and it is currently listed at 50,373 acres.

An update from the Great Basin Incident Management Team 2 said warmer temperatures occurred across the complex and fuel moistures decreased. As a result, both smoldering and smoke generation increased throughout the day. Fire crews made good progress securing spot fire activity on the north and northeast side of the Chaos Fire. Suppression work took place on the east side of the complex. Warm and breezy weather is forecast for later this week.

The Chaos Fire grew by about 100 acres and is now at 28,841 acres. The Little Bend Fire had very minimal growth and is listed at 9,417 acres. On the Little Bend Fire, suppression repair teams worked to keep soils in place and remove debris from drainage areas. Crews also improved containment along the 3831 Road.

The Jack Fire, Buckhead Fire and Near Minky Fire are all unchanged in fire size.

The Rough Patch Complex remains 44 percent contained while the Jack Fire is still 55 percent contained.
