Due to the Rough Patch Complex and the Jack Fire, access has been restricted to many locations within the Indigo and Dixon hunting units for the archery deer and elk hunting season.
Staff with the Umpqua National Forest said with the upcoming arrival of fall, the changing weather is a signal for many hunters to prepare for hunting season.
With some areas closed, hunters can travel further east in the units to find open access.
The Umpqua National Forest will continue to evaluate the impacts to closed areas on the forest and will adjust those areas when it is safe to allow entry. For updated information on Umpqua National Forest closures, refer to the InciWeb pages for the Rough Patch Complex and for the Jack Fire.
