MASKS NOW REQUIRED IN CITY OF ROSEBURG BUILDINGS

Masks are now required in City of Roseburg buildings.

A release said that follows the recommendation of the Oregon Health Authority regarding universal mask use for all public indoor settings.

Residents are now asked to limit their visits to City Hall. City Manager Nikki Messenger said “This is not the news that we want to hear, but as an organization, we have committed to following the guidance from the beginning and we plan to continue”.

Visitor access to City Hall will be limited to the lobby and Council Chambers. Masks will be available to anyone not wearing one. City employees are required to wear masks inside buildings or in vehicles carrying at least two people.

The release said the increased restrictions are a safety precaution meant to protect residents and employees as the number of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations has surged locally and across the state in recent days.

Roseburg commission meetings will continue to be held virtually via Zoom and shown online via Facebook Live. A decision regarding in-person council meetings is expected to be made soon.

Residents are encouraged to do business with the City of Roseburg online, by phone or by email.
