COVID-19 CASES CLIMBING IN OREGON

The number of COVID-19 cases are climbing in the state, according to the Oregon Health Authority.

The virus has claimed 2 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 2,838, as of Monday.

An update from OHA reported 993 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 215,853. The new cases include:

*197 in Multnomah County

*102 in Clackamas County

*93 in Lane County

*79 in Washington County

*67 each in Josephine and Linn counties

*65 in Deschutes County

*59 in Douglas County

*53 in Umatilla County

*28 in Marion County

*27 in Yamhill County

*24 in Jackson County

*20 each in Benton and Union counties

*18 in Polk County

*8 in Wasco County

*7 each Columbia, Jefferson, Tillamook and Wallowa counties

*4 each in Coos, Curry and Klamath counties

*3 each in Baker, Crook, Hood River, Lincoln and Morrow counties

*1 each in Lake and Wheeler counties

The new deaths ranged in age from 69 to 85. 1 each lived in Clackamas and Multnomah counties

OHA said the total number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 207, which is 14 more than on Sunday. There are 58 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 3 more than on Sunday.

OHA reported that 2,517 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of that total, 1,846 doses were administered on Sunday. 671 were administered on previous days but were entered into the vaccine registry on Sunday.
