A Roseburg woman was jailed in an alleged forgery case on Saturday.

Information from Roseburg Police said a victim had written multiple checks to Ruby Hajos for completing miscellaneous errands and housework for her family. The report said that five of the checks were allegedly altered for amounts greater than they were originally written for. The 40-year old reportedly cashed $1,960 in fraudulent checks.

Hajos was charged with first degree forgery, first degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, and for five counts of second-degree theft. Bail was set at $131,250. She was detained in the 1200 block of Southeast Jackson Street at about 10:45 p.m.
