Roseburg Police jailed a man for allegedly stealing a vehicle, on Friday.

The RPD report said at 12:00 p.m. the 29-year was stopped while driving the vehicle in the 500 block of Northwest Plateau. The suspect claimed he had purchased it, even though the ignition was punched and the man was using a screwdriver to start the car.

The suspect was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and for a probation violation. He was detained without bail.
