Roseburg Police jailed a man following a chase on Thursday night.
An RPD report said at 7:30 p.m. 33-year old Monte Young allegedly flew into traffic at a high rate of speed while on a dirt bike on Southeast Mosher. The report said the man was weaving in and out of traffic, was not signaling for any turns, and was riding reckless.
The report said an officer activated his lights near the corner of Southeast Stephens and Southeast Oak, and Young failed to stop. As the bike continued north on Northeast Stephens, a deputy from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office activated his lights. Young still didn’t stop and accelerated away. The man eventually pulled over.
Young was charged with attempting to elude a police officer and for reckless driving. Bail was set at $62,500.
