DEFAZIO ANNOUNCES ARP FUNDING FOR AIRPORTS

Congressman Peter DeFazio has announced that over $8.4 million in American Rescue Plan funding is going to airports in southwestern Oregon.

DeFazio is the Chair of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and helped write and pass the American Rescue Plan.

DeFazio said, “It’s imperative that we provide critical pandemic relief to Oregon’s airports in order to ensure safe and continued access to air service”. DeFazio said the funds will help airports withstand the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and allow them to make critical investments to retain workers, keep passengers safe and encourage economic growth for the entire region.

Airports in the 4th congressional district receiving help include:

*Just over $6.95 million for the Eugene Airport

*Just over $1 million for the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport

*$59,000 for the Roseburg Airport
