The Douglas Forest Protective Association will increase the Industrial Fire Precaution Level to IFPL 2 on all private, county, state, Bureau of Land Management and Bureau of Indian Affairs lands that are protected by DFPA on Saturday.
A release said the IFPL system is a set of fire restrictions for industrial operators, and other forest workers who are working on forestlands. During IFPL 2, these forest industrial activities are prohibited between 1:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.:
*The use of power saws, except at loading sites
*Feller-bunchers with rotary head saw
*Cable yarding
*Blasting
*Cutting, grinding, or welding of metal
In addition, a fire watch of at least two hours is required during IFPL 2 once work has been completed for the day. Some private landowners or public land management agencies may require a longer fire watch on the lands they own or manage.
