A juvenile driver was hurt in a single vehicle wreck on Saturday.

Information from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at 6:00 p.m. the 16-year old female is suspected to have crashed due to speed on the large corner near Stearns Lane and Rochester Bridge Road in the Oakland area.

The report said the sedan rolled numerous times along the bank and roadway until it came to rest on its tires. The driver suffered a possible broken wrist and a concussion. She was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center and was later flown to PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend in Springfield for surgery on her hand.

The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
