A Roseburg man died in a single-vehicle crash in Melrose early Tuesday.
Sergeant Brad O’Dell of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said shortly before 1:00 a.m. dispatchers received a report of the wreck in the 1000 block of Melrose Road. O’Dell said the caller reported the large SUV had crashed head-on into a tree and the driver was unresponsive.
DCSO along with fire and EMS agencies responded and found the vehicle, which had been traveling eastbound and had left the roadway for unknown reasons. O’Dell said the 30-year old was pronounced deceased at the scene. His name is being withheld pending next of kin notification. The Medical Examiners Office continues to exhaust efforts in locating family of the driver.
