MAN JAILED ON CHILD SEXUAL CORRUPTION CHARGES

Sutherlin Police have arrested a man on child sexual corruption charges.

Sergeant Ben Woodward of SPD said on Tuesday at 1:00 a.m. 41-year old Jackson County resident Adam Boyd was taken into custody. Woodward said Boyd was transported to the Douglas County Jail and charged with online sexual corruption in both the first and second degree, and with luring a minor. Bail was set at $200,000.

SPD’s release said due to the nature and sensitivity of the crimes committed and the on-going investigation, SPD is unable to release information about how the crimes were committed.

Woodward said parents are strongly encouraged to monitor their children’s use of smart phones, tablets and other devices used to access the internet and social media apps.
