Shelley Briggs-Loosley was selected for the Ward 2, Position 1 seat on the Roseburg City Council on Monday night.

Councilors interviewed Briggs-Loosely and Jeffrey Weller, who both applied for the position following the resignation of Sheila Cox. Briggs-Loosely will have the seat through the end of 2022.

Councilors also formally adopted the city’s budget for the fiscal year that begins July first. The total budget is $80.3 million with no increase in the property tax rate.
