CITY COUNCIL WILL SELECT A NEW MEMBER

June 14, 2021 4:00 a.m. 

Roseburg City Council will select a new member at its meeting Monday night.

The Ward 2 Position 1 seat is currently vacant, following the recent resignation of Sheila Cox. Two candidates have applied for the seat and will be interviewed. Shelley Briggs Loosely is retired and serves on the board of several non-profit organizations. She is a member of the city’s Homeless Commission. Jeffrey Weller is retired and serves on the board of Umpqua Actors Community Theatre. He is a member of city’s Budget Committee.

A Public Hearing will be held regarding the adoption of the city’s budget for the fiscal year that begins July 1st. There will also be three public hearings regarding various land use issues.

Other items are on the agenda as well.

Councilor interviews will take place at 6:30 p.m. with the regular meeting beginning at 7:00 p.m. The council will meet in its role as the Roseburg Urban Renewal Board after the council meeting.

All meetings will be held via Zoom and streamed live to the city’s Facebook page. It will be uploaded to the city’s website on Tuesday.
