Interstate Five motorists should expect nighttime ramp closures at the McLain Avenue exit 121 and the fairgrounds exit 123 for paving work next week.

Dan Latham of the Oregon Department of Transportation said construction is expected to take two nights at each intersection. Work will happen at exit 121 on Sunday and Monday night and at exit 123 Tuesday and Wednesday night. Latham said ramp closures are scheduled from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Paving is weather dependent and schedules could change without notice.

Latham said detour signs and message boards will be in place. During construction, motorists are advised to continue past the closed ramps and use the next interchange to turn around.

Latham said the $17 million I-5 Garden Valley to Roberts Creek project will pave eight miles of the freeway including ramps at several interchanges. All work is scheduled to be completed by this fall.
