The YMCA of Douglas County will have its Water Safety Day on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Staff and volunteers will be distributing two hundred life jackets at no cost to area youth. They are Coast Guard-approved type III PFDs flotation aids.

The event will be done in a drive through format with those participating asked to enter from the Stewart Parkway Legion Field south entrance. There will be information regarding safety around the water, along with prizes and giveaways. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol will be at the event.

Water Safety Day is made possible with the support of the YMCA and others including Western Title & Escrow, Bi-Mart, Noon Rotary Club of Roseburg, Dye Hard Construction, Oregon Serigraphics, Rogue Credit Union and Brooke Communications.
