Roseburg Police cited a man for carrying a concealed weapon on Thursday night.
An RPD report said at 6:00 p.m. officers responded to Gaddis Park regarding a suspicious male. While an officer was headed that way, he noticed a 42-year old man on Northwest Highland Street attempting to conceal something. The report said the item was in the sleeve of his jacket and it was obvious that he was avoiding the officer. After checking on the man at the park, the officer was flagged down by someone that said the man on Highland had a gun concealed in his pocket.
Four officers contacted the suspect in front of a business in the 200 block of Northwest Garden Valley. The man was non-compliant initially and kept digging in his pockets. The report said he eventually dropped a large machete type weapon on the ground and was taken into custody. Police seized the weapon.
The man was released after the citation was issued.
