Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged prior assault, early Thursday.

An RPD report said on May 25th witnesses stated that a vehicle entered the back- parking lot of a business on West Harvard and hit a man several times before leaving the scene. One witness said the victim was struck three times while a second witness said the man was hit twice.

The report said the victim was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center and was found to have two fractured vertebrae.

49-year old Christopher Haro was identified as the driver who hit the man. He was contacted at 3:00 a.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of Southeast Douglas and was taken into custody. He was charged with second-degree assault and felony hit and run. Bail was set at $350,000.
