A Roseburg man was jailed following two alleged theft incidents on Monday.

A report from Roseburg Police said at 8:30 a.m. officers responded to a reported theft of beer from a business in the 2600 block of Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard. Employees provided a description of the suspect and advised that he was standing a short distance away. 45-year old Travis Maples was contacted and allegedly found to be in possession of the stolen merchandise. He was cited for third-degree theft and released.

At 12:50 p.m. officers contacted the man again after he had reportedly taken bananas from another nearby business. Maples allegedly set the merchandise alarm off when he walked out the front door, so a manager told him he had to pay for the items. Maples allegedly told him he had a gun and would “blow a hole” in him.

Maples was held for another third-degree theft charge along with second-degree disorderly conduct. After arraignment he remained detained on $5,000 bail.
