MAN CONVICTED OF 29 COUNTS OF SEXUALLY ABUSING CHILDREN

Following a two-week trial, on Monday a Douglas County jury convicted 34-year old Tristan Stanton on 29 counts of sexually abusing children.

District Attorney Rick Wesenberg said charges included sodomy of a child under 12 years old, unlawful sexual penetration of a child under 12, and sexual abuse of a child under 12, stemming from years of abuse of multiple children.

The trial was presided over by the Honorable Ann Marie Simmons. Wesenberg and Senior Deputy District Attorney Allison Eichmann prosecuted the case, which arose through investigation by the Roseburg Police Department Detective Justin Wesie, the Oregon State Police Forensic DNA Lab and Douglas CARES.

Sentencing is set for June 1st at 1:30 p.m. in courtroom 402.
