Just under 20 percent of registered voters cast a ballot in the Douglas County Special District’s Election, as of early Wednesday. Douglas County Clerk Daniel Loomis said that 16,484 ballots were counted.
Andrew Shirtcliff leads incumbent Micki Hall 51 percent to 49 percent for a seat on the Roseburg School Board. That is a margin of 139 votes. Incumbent Brandon Bishop beat challenger Samantha Frost 53 percent to 41 percent for another contested seat on the board. Ann Krimetz won over Keith Longie 58 percent to 42 percent for an open seat.
In the Sutherlin School District, Bill Ratledge beat Scott McKnight 60 percent to 40 percent for a seat on the board. Michael Boehm won over Leonard Bodeen 57 percent to 42 percent for a contested seat.
In the Winston-Dillard School District, Jasmine Geyer won over John Poore for a position on the board, capturing 52 percent of the votes while Poore received 47 percent. Erin Saylor won over Lorna Quimby 54 percent to 46 percent. Jeremy Mitchell had a big win over Mliss Shrum 71 percent to 28 percent for a third contested seat.
In the South Umpqua School District, Jeannie Weakley had 49 percent, beating Sharyse Williams with 27 percent and Van A Roosa with 23 percent, for a contested board seat.
In the Glide School District, Candice Voynick won over Kris Maleck, 53 percent to 46 percent for a contested seat on the board. Jeffrey Brown beat Kara Weber 61 percent to 30 percent for another contested seat. Dan Metz won over Rebecca Beam 60 percent to 39 percent for the third contested seat.
In the Yoncalla School District, Della Orcutt won over Trinity Benito 51 percent to 46 percent for a contested school board position.
In the Glendale School District, Carolynn Lydon beat Bill Boal 72 percent to 26 percent for a contested board seat.
In the Days Creek School District, Valorie Anderson won over Todd Vaughn 67 percent to 32 percent for a contested seat. Charlie Sawyer has a one vote lead over Chelsie Hopkins for another contested seat.
