RESIDENTIAL REHABILITATION TREATMENT PROGRAM PHASED REOPENING PLANNED

The Roseburg VA Medical Center has a phased reopening plan for the residential rehabilitation treatment program.

A release said it was temporarily closed in April of last year due to insufficient staffing, heightened COVID-19 risk in inpatient units, and the potential re-purposing of RRTP bed space to support COVID-19 health care delivery.

The VA has determined that the RRTP bed space is no longer needed as COVID-19 contingency space. The release said the VA is working to secure sufficient staff to ensure a sustainable RRTP program for the short and long term.

The VA plans to gradually open beds, starting at 25 percent and increasing slowly to 100 percent. The goal is to reopen in 90 days, as long as enough staff is trained and in place.
