MAN JAILED FOLLOWING POLICE PURSUIT

A Roseburg man was jailed following a police pursuit on Monday night.

A report from Roseburg Police said just after 10:00 p.m. officers contacted 20-year old Steven Raudalas near the intersection of Southeast Marsters and Southeast Ichabod Street. The report said the man was seen committing several traffic violations. Officers attempted to stop his vehicle but it continued at a high rate of speed and eventually crashed into a parked truck. The vehicle never stopped and continued to drive away from officers. A short time later it crashed and high centered on a cement divider.

Raudalas was taken into custody without incident.

Charges included fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, for reckless driving, recklessly endangering another person, and for failure to perform the duties of a driver. Bail was set at $68,750.
