MAN HOSPITALIZED AFTER DIRT BIKE CRASH

A Roseburg man was hospitalized after a dirt bike crash on Saturday.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at about 3:40 p.m. the 24-year old and his friends were riding at the top of Longs Ranch in the 7,000 block of Melqua Road in Melrose, when the accident took place. The report said the rider was going too fast and could not stop. He went over his handle bars and hit his femur on a large rock. He suffered a broken femur and was taken to CHI Mercy Medical Center before being transferred to PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend in Springfield. He was listed in good condition at last check, according to a hospital spokesperson.
