In-N-Out Burger has filed a development application with the City of Roseburg, and hopes to open a location near the airport.

The site plan review document said the company wants to develop a 3,885 square foot restaurant with drive through service and outdoor patio seating. The associated work site would include 71 parking spaces and over 26,000 square feet of landscape area.

The company’s Vice President of Real Estate & Development, Carl Arena said, “We are very enthusiastic about the opportunity there”. Arena said it is still very early in the development process so design elements are still evolving. He said once construction begins on a new location, it usually takes 5 to 6 months to build the restaurant and be open for business.

City of Roseburg Community Development Director Stuart Cowie told News Radio 1240 KQEN that the application was received on March 5th. Cowie said the proposed two-acre parcel is just south of Home Depot, next to Interstate Five on Northwest Aviation Drive. Cowie said In-N-Out began initial discussions with the City regarding the property in October.

Arena said “We do know that Roseburg is a fantastic community, and we definitely look forward to having this great location to serve our customers”. In-N-Out opened its first location in California in 1948 in a space that was barely ten square feet in size. The company celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2018. At that time, it had 334 locations. Other stores in Oregon include locations in Medford, Grants Pass and Keizer, just north of Salem.

Arena said it would be premature to comment on a potential timeline, should the application be approved.
