There is a case of COVID-19 at Douglas High School

Information on the school website from Principal Craig Anderson said they have been notified by the Douglas Public Health Network that someone at the school has tested positive for COVID-19. Anderson said they are working very closely with public health and the Oregon Health Authority to notify parents that the school will resume in-person and hybrid learning on Monday March 8th. Students are to attend Comprehensive Distance Learning classes on Thursday.

Anderson said those who need to quarantine are being contacted by DPHN.

A separate post from Vice-Principal and Athletic Director Rob Holveck said Friday night’s football game against Sutherlin has been canceled “…due to the OHA suspension of our in-person school activities”. He said the quarantine and suspension only lasts until Saturday.

Anderson and Superintendent Kevin Miller of the Winston-Dillard School District have not responded to requests from News Radio 1240 KQEN for more information regarding the situation.
