COVID-19 CLAIMS 2 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 2,206 AS OF FRIDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 2 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 2,206, as of Friday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 336 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 154,878. The new cases include:

*47 in Multnomah County

*38 each in Marion and Washington counties

*28 in Lane County

*20 in Clackamas County

*19 in Douglas County

*17 in Deschutes County

*16 in Jackson County

*15 in Coos County

*14 in Josephine County

*12 in Linn County

*10 in Polk County

*9 in Klamath County

*8 each in Curry, Umatilla and Yamhill counties

*7 in Benton County

*6 in Union County

*5 in Columbia County

*2 each in Baker, Malheur, Morrow and Tillamook counties

*1 each in Harney, Hood River, and Jefferson counties.

The new deaths ranged in age from 55 to 73. One each lived in Douglas and Umatilla counties

OHA said due to a server error, a large volume of electronic laboratory results were not processed until after business hours on Thursday. Case counts are lower than anticipated because local health departments were not able to create cases from positive ELRs that were received after hours.

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 152, which is 4 fewer than on Thursday. There are 34 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 4 fewer than on Thursday.

OHA reported that 30,594 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of that total, 22,353 doses were administered on Thursday. 8,241 were administered on previous days but were entered into the vaccine registry on Thursday.

Oregon has now administered a cumulative total of 911,648 first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines. To date, 1,177,945 doses of vaccine have been delivered to sites across Oregon.
