A Winston woman was jailed for unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle by Roseburg Police on Monday afternoon.

An RPD report said at about 2:30 p.m. the 29-year old allegedly entered the open back window of a vehicle in the 1100 block of Southeast Oak, and took items out. The report said the suspect then placed the items on the owner’s front porch and went through his empty mailbox.

The woman then allegedly sat on the front steps and drank a wine cooler before trying the front door of the residence to see if it was unlocked. The report said the door was locked but the resident came out and confronted the woman at that time.

An officer was unable to locate the suspect immediately after the incident but found her nearby after several callers reported similar incidents.

The woman was also detained for second degree criminal trespass, and held for other charges as well. Bail was set at $4,000.
