2 more people in Douglas County have died of COVID-19, and 27 more people have received new positive test results, as of Wednesday.
County Public Health Officer Dr. Bob Dannenhoffer said the 52nd COVID-19 death was a 74-year old woman who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on February 1st and passed away on February 17th. The 53rd COVID-19 death was a 71-year old woman who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on February 8th and passed away on Tuesday.
An update from the Douglas County COVID-19 Response Team said the total number of cases is now at 2,417. Of those, 2,293 are people that have received positive test results and 124 are presumptive. 16 Douglas County COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 12 locally and 4 outside the area. 275 people are in isolation. 567 people are in quarantine. That means the staff with the Douglas Public Health Network are supporting 842 people that are either in isolation or quarantine.
Dannenhoffer told News Radio 1240 KQEN that this week’s cases continue to come from care facilities, workplaces, schools and social gatherings.
The next drive through testing clinic with DPHN is Friday in Roseburg.
