A Sutherlin area transient was charged with strangulation and harassment early Tuesday.

Captain Kurt Sorensen of the Sutherlin Police Department said that Chad Thomas is accused of a domestic violence incident that reportedly occurred last week. Sorensen said the 26-year old was found back at the location where the original incident occurred on Monday night.

Thomas was detained on $8,750 bail.
