COVID-19 CLAIMS 5 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL TO 2,143, AS OF WEDNESDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 5 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 2,143, as of Wednesday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 473 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 151,257. The new cases include:

*55 in Multnomah County

*52 in Jackson County

*50 in Deschutes County

*40 in Douglas County

*39 in Lane County

*27 in Washington County

*25 in Marion County

*19 in Yamhill County

*17 in Clackamas County

*15 in Malheur County

*14 in Polk County

*13 in Josephine County

*11 in Umatilla County

*10 each in Coos, Jefferson and Linn counties

*9 in Harney County

*8 in Union County

*7 in Benton County

*6 each in Hood River and Lake counties

*5 each in Baker, Klamath and Tillamook counties

*3 in Columbia County

*2 each in Clatsop, Crook, Lincoln, Morrow and Wallowa counties

*1 each in Grant and Wasco counties

The new deaths ranged in age from 53 to 89. 1 each lived in Jackson, Lincoln, Marion, Multnomah and Washington counties.

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 190, which is 5 fewer than on Tuesday. There are 44 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 7 fewer than on Tuesday.

OHA reported that 15,790 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of that total, 10,653 doses were administered on Tuesday. 5,137 were administered on previous days but were entered into the vaccine registry on Tuesday.

Oregon has now administered a cumulative total of 707,244 first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines. To date, 922,300 doses of vaccine have been delivered to sites across Oregon.
