28 more people have received new positive test results for COVID-19 in Douglas County, and there are 8 new presumptive cases, as of Wednesday.
This is again one of the highest local daily case counts for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
County Public Health Officer Dr. Bob Dannenhoffer said the current uptick in cases continues to be tied to cases in nursing homes, schools and workplaces.
An update from the Douglas County COVID-19 Response Team said the total number of cases is now at 2,254. Of those, 2,133 are people that have received positive test results and 121 are presumptive. There have been 51 deaths. 15 Douglas County COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 10 locally and 5 outside the area. 264 people are in isolation. 481 people are in quarantine. That means the staff with the Douglas Public Health Network are supporting 745 people that are either in isolation or quarantine.
The next drive through testing clinic with DPHN will be Friday in Roseburg.
