FIBER LINE CUT AFTER SERVICE REPAIRED FOR OVER TEN HOURS

A damaged fiber line was repaired after service was off for over ten hours on Tuesday.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said just after 1:00 p.m. they were notified of the disruption which impacted residents in Camas Valley, Tenmile, Winston, Green, Myrtle Creek, Days Creek, Tiller and Milo, due to the fiber line being cut.

The disruption affected the ability of residents to reach 911 on a Lumen Technologies landline.

DCSO said residents may of been able to get through to emergency service on a cellular phone, if they had service. Some fire stations were manned with personnel during the outage.
