Crews with the Douglas Forest Protective Association remain engaged on the Archie Creek Fire with operational control over all the private, county, and state lands within the footprint of the fire.

Kyle Reed of DFPA said of the over 131,000 acres blackened by the fire, DFPA is currently responsible for nearly 65,000 acres. Reed said the fire remains 94 percent contained.

DFPA’s portion of the fire is in a monitor and patrol status. Reed said DFPA continues to work closely with private industrial landowners who were impacted by the fire. He said many of those landowners are assessing their lands, starting salvage operations and prepping for reforestation projects. DFPA is also coordinating efforts with its federal partners and Northwest Team 12 who are managing fire operations.

Public access closures remain in place on all private industrial lands and public lands within the footprint of the Archie Creek Fire.
