A California man was taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle wreck on Tuesday morning.
A report from Roseburg Police said at about 7:40 a.m. the 61-year old was traveling east on Garden Valley Boulevard in the inside lane as he approached the intersection with Mulholland.
A vehicle that had just exited Interstate Five was stopped at a red light, and the 50-year old female driver from Roseburg, was waiting to cross onto Mulholland.
The report said the man’s vehicle approached the intersection but he was apparently unable to see the traffic light due to glare from the sun, so the driver proceeded through the intersection. As soon as the woman’s light turned green, he went into the intersection and was t-boned by the first vehicle. The first driver complained on pain to his side and his head. He was transported to Mercy Medical Center. The female claimed she was not injured.
Both vehicles appeared to be totaled and had to be towed from the scene. The driver who caused the wreck was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device, driving uninsured and for not having an operator’s license.
