COVID-19 CLAIMS 3 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 539 AS OF THURSDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 2 more lives, raising the state death toll to 539 as of Thursday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 382 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 31,865. This case count is the highest since mid-July. The new cases include:

*92 in Multnomah County

*50 in Washington County

*48 in Marion County

*38 in Lane County

*32 in Clackamas County

*20 in Jackson County

*15 each in Malheur and Linn counties

*11 in Umatilla County

*8 in Benton County

*6 each in Wasco and Yamhill counties

*5 each in Deschutes, Douglas and Jefferson counties

*4 each in Clatsop, Morrow and Union counties

*3 in Polk County

*2 each in Coos and Klamath counties

*1 each in Baker, Crook, Grant, Hood River, Josephine, and Lake counties

Oregon’s 538th COVID-19 death is an 88-year old man in Douglas County who tested positive on September 13th and died on September 20th at Mercy Medical Center. His death was reported earlier in the week by local health officials.

Oregon’s 539th COVID-19 death is an 82-year old man in Malheur County who tested positive on September 4th and died on September 22nd at St. Alphonsus Medical Center in Ontario.

Both had underlying conditions, according to the OHA.
