MAN CITED FOR LITTERING, THEN DUII ON A BICYCLE

August 25, 2020 9:50 a.m.

A Myrtle Creek man was cited by police twice in just over twenty minutes, when one incident apparently contributed to the second one.

A Myrtle Creek Police report said Sunday about 3:50 p.m. the 58-year old man was allegedly spotted drinking beer in Millsite Park. The report said when the man finished with the beer, he tossed the can into some shrubbery. An officer told the man to pick up the can, he refused and was cited for offensive littering.

Just after 4:10 p.m. the man crashed his bike while turning into the back parking-lot of AG Market on Oak Street. The report said the suspect showed signs of extreme intoxication which led to a DUII investigation. The man was arrested for DUII after registering a blood alcohol level of .23% – which is nearly three times the legal limit.

He was released after being cited.
